Pebbles . . .

Case Study submitted by Andrew Turkell, DVM, CVA, CCRT

Calusa Veterinary Center -Boca Raton, FL.

Princess Pebbles, a red Pomeranian puppy, was surrendered to Animal Care and Control in Palm Beach County, Florida just before the Fourth of July, 2014, with thick scabbing wounds apparently from a chemical or thermal burn.  The scabs were from the back of her head to her tail.

She was about to be euthanized when a shelter board member called Calusa Veterinary Center and asked if they could help heal princess using HVM’s veterinary hyperbaric chamber.

After a surgery to remove the eschars, Princess was treated daily in the chamber at 2 ATA for 45 minutes for a month.  After 30 HBO treatments, Princess was completely healed with minimal scaring, and was adopted by a nurse that helped heal her wounds just days after her last treatment.
